Franken is a dry wine region, specializing in such varieties as Riesling, Silvaner, Scheurebe, Weissburgunder, Muller-Thurgau, and Spatburgunder, vinified dry. Bocksbeutels are the tradition bottles used, though many of today's Franken wines are exported in Riesling or Bordeaux bottles for ease of storage and display. Franken wines are delicious, flavorful delicacies that go very well with foods of all kinds, in particular European dishes and seafood.
