The Rheinhessen's quality leader is none other than Gunderloch, owner of the premium vineyard Rothenberg ("red hill") in Nackenheim. These wines are steely, firm, structured, and generous. Winemaker Fritz Hasselbach of Gunderloch is the only winemaker to have been awarded 100 points for 3 of his wines by Wine Spectator Magazine.
