Malbec was known as the black wine of Cahors in Southwest France, and is a blending grape used in minute amounts in red Bordeaux. However, since the grape has been brought to Argentina, Malbec has become a hit in its own right. Malbec is delicious, and appeals to many Cabernet lovers. There is also the occasional Malbec coming out of California.
