Burgundy is the birthplace of the Chardonnay grape. But this is a different kind of chardonnay from what American wineries make. White Burgundy wines offer peach, apple and lemon flavors plus a little hazelnut, honey and minerals. Each wine also shows a sense of place, giving away its appellation. Famous appellations here include Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, and Chablis.
