Oregon's cool climate produces wines of supreme elegance and balance. Pinot Noir is king here, rivaling California's best with pure fruit and great depth. But don't overlook the excellent white wines, especially Chardonnay and Pinot Gris, which are typically more fruit forward and less alcoholic or oaky than their California counterparts.
