The Amazing Spatburgunders (Pinot Noir) of the F. Becker Estate
Nestled in the Pfalz wine region of Germany, on the border right next to Alsace, France exists a beautiful little winery that happens to be one of the most highly regarded red wine estates in all of Germany. That winery is the F. Becker Estate.
The famous red wines are Spatburgunder - "Late Burgundy" - the German name for the grape we know as Pinot Noir.
We have been anxiously waiting for these delicious and delicate Spatburgunders to arrive, and they are finally here. These wines appeal to both lovers of Burgundy and New World Pinot Noir as they have plenty of forward fruit, but also plenty of structure, earthiness, and balance. Aged in German oak, these wines display elegance and ageability, developing gracefully as such wines should.
