I tasted this wine at the massive Family Winemakers of California tasting, and even after tasting dozens of other wines, the quality of this wine simply blew me away. That really shouldn't be a surprise you see, Barlow's vineyards are located in the north eastern portion of Napa Valley, literally next door to Duckhorn's famous Three Palms Vineyard. This is ground zero for top quality Merlot from Napa, and this wine has it all richness, intensity, balance, power, and elegance. The terroir in this section of Napa clearly imparts something special in the grapes grown here, and Barlow takes full advantage of the site's superior qualities in making this superb wine. Don't miss this one!
