Topanga Vineyard's version of Grenache Blanc, called "Celadon" has been excellent for a number of years, but this 2008 version is the best yet. In this vintage they obtained fruit from a new source, the "Beeswax Vineyard" in Arroyo Seco, the slightly cooler region has provided fruit with even greater purity and depth than earlier vintages of this wine. Grenache Blanc combines the citrus notes and crispness of a fine Pinot Grigio, with the rich stone-fruit qualities of a Viognier. The combination is simply delicious, with a refreshing quality and complexity that keeps you coming back for another sip. Crisp enough for summer foods, but also with enough richness for more hearty fare, this is one of the most verstile domestic white wines in the store. We love it!
