Angelica, made largely from the Mission grape first planted by the Spanish padres in the 1770s, is a fortified sweet wine traditionally used as alter wine. Galleano’s is stupendous! Galleano’s Ancient Angelica tastes like a cross between a tawny port and a cream sherry. Bright flavor, very sweet wine with a lovely cinnamon spice nuance. If more churches offered this great tasting wine, I’m sure attendance would be way up. Gold Medal—New World Wine Competition
