A lovely example of what the great vineyards along the Douro can produce. It’s made by the well-regarded Werner Nakel who consistently produces the best German Pinot Noir. Here he is using a blend of the traditional “Port” varietals to make a stunning and dry wine. It’s well balanced and with the bottle age this is drinking fabulously well. The nose is fruity with red and black berries, and on the palate, the wine is balanced, without excessive oakiness or heaviness.
