It has been said on clear nights you can see lights on the African coastline from the southern Mediterranean island of Pantelleria. The island is known for its rich dried sweet Muscat wines which take on an orangey character. Ferrandes' version is about as wonderful as any I've sampled. A tawny color, complex aroma, it is round and very concentrated in the mouth with sweet flavors of caramel, candied oranges and spice. Wow!
