Everything that legendary winemaker Tony Soter makes is outstanding, and this fabulous Pinot from the Mineral Springs Vineyard is his "top of the line" offering for 2006. The vineyard is well-named, as the precision and minerality evidenced in this remarkable pinot noir is simply breathtaking. As you'd expect from a Soter wine, there's impeccable balance and purity from start to finish, as well as complex fruits dominated by black cherry and hints of pine needle, all framed by that wonderful minerality that's perfectly integrated into the smooth, silky texture. A singular achievement, and without question one of the best Oregon pinots of the 2006 vintage.
