Grenache is one of the trickiest grapes to grow well, so this wine's name is well-deserved. too many renditions of Grenache are either bland, or taste like overripe Zinfandels. But not this one. In fact, I was amazed that such pure, honest varietal character could be achieved in a Grenache that we could sell for under $20. Full of grenache's typical bright cherry fruit flavors and spice, but with the kind of minerality and precise crisp structure that eludes most domestic grenache, this could fool a lot of people into thinking it comes from the Southern Rhone. A brilliant match for any grilled meat or savory stews, not to mention full-flavored cheeses. Outstanding value!
