Much like the 30-year, the extra ageing on this wine provides a long mellow finish and a very special – and rare – experience. The times that I’ve tried this wine have been, well I can’t come up with a word to describe it. Maybe the best statement might be “one glass is never enough.” The grapes were harvested by hand around 40-years ago and fermented for a short period of time before the addition of 100% neutral grape spirit alcohol. This step stops fermentation, preserves the wine’s natural grape sugars, and gives it its unique richness.
