I can’t think of a better value in sparkling wine than this full-flavored bubbly from northeast Spain’s Penedes. (Sparkling wine is called cava in Spain.) The latest blend is richer than previous blends, with a honey-like character to the wine. Could it be that some of the grapes were affected by botrytis? The bubbly remains bright to the taste and it has a clean, lemony tang to the finish. This is a festive and affordable way to begin a celebration.
