Bleasdale is a family-owned winery in the Langhorne Creek region of South Australia. Founded by Frank Potts in 1850, the company is now in its 5th generation, still making wines that are so easy drinking and so affordable, they are embraced around the world. The vineyards are situated on fertile flood plains, in a climate that is relatively cool by Australian standards, producing grapes with some natural acidity but without a lot of grippy tannins. This Langhorne Crossing Red is a prime example - made from 61% Shiraz and 39% Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine has a nose of vibrant red forest berries, while on the palate, there is lush fruit and toasty spice, without excessive heaviness. This wine is perfect for sipping after work while making dinner, and pairing with appetizers, pasta dishes, or roast chicken.
