Robert Parker and the Wine Advocate gave it 96 points and called it a profound effort priced unbelievably low. That is an under-statement, to be sure. This is sumptuous, intense, extremely concentrated, and has an unending finish. Mature grapes are spread out on mats to dry until they become raisins. When they are pressed they produce a rich must to which grape alcohol is added to prevent fermentation and loss of any sweetness. The Solera system was started in 1927.
