In the hands of someone less talented and committed to Italian varietals, Pinot Grigio can produce a boring, innocuous wine devoid of character or interest. Well, that's not Bruno d'Alfonso's Pinot Grigio, who respects this delicious varietal far too much to treat it like a simple jug wine. The Di Bruno Pinot Grigio features a complex nose of citrus fruits, fresh-cut hay and complex herbs. On the palate the wine is clean, crisp, but with unusual depth, flavors of grapefruit, lemon curd, thyme and oregano. The finish is long and clean. There is Old World complexity here, a wine that will complement both your finest cuisine or simple meal of grilled fish.
