Next to New Zealand, Chile has become perhaps the most exciting new producer of crisp and refreshing Sauvignon Blanc. This bottling from Quintay comes from the warmer reaches of the Casablanca Valley, and as a result the wine is bit larger-scaled and richer than the typical Chilean Sauvignon. Richly endowed with classis flavors of citrus fruits, savory herbs, and just a tiny bit of fresh-mowed grass, this just has a little more of everything that we like about Sauvignon Blanc. More of everything—except price, that is. A terrific wine at an excellent price.
