This is Nikolaihof's entry level cuvee, from the fruit of younger vines, and made with long yeast contact to give the wine body and complexity. It is clean and pure expression of Gruner Veltliner, along with sweet lees, fresh oysters, and white flowers. Winemaker Nikolaus Saahs joked that this is their 11 a.m. wine as it is on the light side for this estate. Of course, it is by no means a lightweight in the normal world of Gruner! 100% biodynamic.
