A great example of a Barossa cabernet that really tastes like cabernet, the Glen Eldon version shares the rich, ripe style of so many Barossa wines, but keeps the ripeness in check so that the true flavors and structure of cabernet can assert themselves. Plenty of black fruit and licorice, plus a hint of coffee is supported by a structure that is more classic in its balance of tannins and crisp acidity. Not too robust, but rich and intense, this is another great example of how the best Aussie cabernets can achieve richness and a true Aussie character without sacrificing the wonderful varietal characteristics of cabernet.
