Smith Woodhouse N.V. Lodge Reserve Porto, Portugal

A great value, this is a very lively Port and a real mouthful. This particular port has been aged five years in oak casks. Fresh and fruity with fresh and baked cherries, plums it has minty herbal notes, cocoa and baking spices on the nose and palate. Pair with blue cheeses, barbequed meats, berry or chocolate deserts.

Founded in 1784, Smith Woodhouse, Christopher Smith, at the time the Lord Mayor of London, established the company to ship Port wines from the Douro Valley. A few years later he was joined in this effort by the Woodhouse brothers.  Smith Woodhouse is another brand within the Symington group's portfolio.
