00 2017 Pinot Noir "Shea" Yamhill-Carlton, Willamette Valley, Oregon
The Shea vineyard is some of the most sought-after fruit in the Willamette Valley. They are practicing Biodynamic and the Shea family is very particular on who buys their fruit. This wine shows all of the amazing things that can come out of the Shea vineyard and its amazing terroir. This wine is graceful and lifted then rounded out with a soft tannin structure. The complexity on the palate makes you want to take sip after sip to be able to pull every flavor you can from the wine. It spends a surprising 16 months in 20% new French oak. The palate gives deep black cherry notes and dark chocolate with a velvety smooth mouth feel of biting into a fresh Willamette Valley blackberry.
