Vibrant, fresh and savory!
Michael Volker and his wife Melanie Drese have been running Michael’s family vineyard (with history dating back to 1843) since 2012. In 2012 they changed the whole focus of the vineyard by farming organically and no longer adding additives, refining, or filtering their wines. The results are wine like this 2019 Bacchus. Made with 100% Bacchus grape, 27% of which is fermented on the skins, this is a bright and vibrant wine. The best way to put it is this wine taste like the combination of lemon juice and basil. Vibrant lemon gives it a little tartness but also a freshness. The basil adds a floral and savory characteristic that rounds out the acidity nicely.
