The wines from Arnot-Roberts have a nearly cult following. The wines are always a little edgy, in that cool way and their Rose always personified that for me as it was made with 100% Touriga Nacional, a grape used to make Port wines. This vintage there is some Gamay, Cabernet Franc and Grenache in the mix, so the wine is showing a little more graceful and less savory than most vintages, which makes it a little more friendly. Quite herbal on the nose with wild berries and tart red fruit. Pretty lean on the palate, those red fruited and herbal notes follow through on the palate which has a noticeable scrape of tannin.
