Atance 2021 Bobal, Valencia, Spain

Atance is a second winery from Bodegas Mustiguillo that they started to make a more affordable line wines from the broader Valencia D.O. Atance is an acronym for Acid, Tannin and Calcium.  Bobal is an indigenous grape grown in the mountainous areas above Valencia and usually produces deep, grippy red wines.  This Bobal is made in a lighter, fresher style with only a short stint in large oak vats to help soften the wine.  This is an easy-drinking, fairly fruit forward red with a nice little tannic bite to keep it interesting. Think Beaujolais with a little grip.
