Years ago, the negociant Black Maple Hill sourced its whiskies from Kentucky, but the label's source dried up. After an extensive search, the company discovered a craft distillery in Oregon producing incredible whiskies. Rare as can be, they are different than before, but no less impressive in their own right. The rye is lighter weight in style, with aromas of spice and dried fruits. The label indicates 47.5% ABV, so it is no shrinking violet.
