There is no better way to learn about the beers of a region than to sit down and sample a bunch of them in a row. February 21, The Wine Country's BeerVenture turns to Belgium, the source of inspiration for so many of our local craft breweries.
In January we took a Beerventure through the land of stouts and porters, and man, it was awesome. I had been stashing away some special beers for a few months, so whipping those out for our beer loving attendees was great and delicious.
This month we’ll be diving into the motherland of beer: Belgium.
I’ve been doing the same thing for this month, stashing away some delicious and rare beers you don’t get the opportunity to taste very often. Not only will we be tasting through the Trappist varieties, but we’ll also visit some traditional Belgian lambic beers, mainly from the popular Drie Fonteinen brewery.
Lambics have more of a light sour taste, naturally fermented is giant oak foeders. They’re extremely limited and generally difficult to get over here in the United States, so I am thrilled to have them around and available for this tasting.
Wednesday, February 21 is our date for this one. It’s the usual $25 and starts at 7:30 p.m. You definitely don’t want to miss out on some of these beers.
