We were simply swept away by this seductive sweet wine, grown on the volcanic island of Salina near Sicily in organic vineyards. Naturaly dried on mats for one month, the Malvasia is then crushed and fermented in natural yeast in tank and large oak barrels for six months. What does it taste like? Figs, apricots and brown sugar, with enough acidity to give the wine a lift. An exotic and wonderful dessert by itself and with biscotti. Incredibly delicious, very sweet and of top quality.
