The smoke characteristic is present throughout but never takes over. Which is a nice trait in Mezcals, a lot of folks think that they are super smokey but that is only when trying to cover up bad flavors overall. Light notes of soil and hints of minerality give the spirit an earthiness while still staying light on the palate. Black pepper and vegetal on the finish really lets the agave flavors linger on the palate along with a little smokiness.
