La Spinetta 2022 Il Rose di Casanova, Tuscany, Italy

Georgio Rivetti is the wine maker on a quest to make great wine. His Il Rose di Casanova is blend of 50% Sangiovese and 50% Prugnolo Gentile (a local Montalcino name for Sangiovese).  The vineyard in which it is grown is 6 hectares is size and sits about 300 meters above sea level with a southern exposure, capitalizing on warm days and cool nights facilitating acidity retention and full ripening of the grapes. Bursting with red fruits - cherries, strawberries - and citrus, it is a perfect summer wine, and throughout the year with lighter fare like salads, vegetable dishes, prosciutto and accompaniments.
