A project of Littorai's Ted Lemon , one of the best Pinot Noir makers in California, this is an achingly pretty and pure wine from Central Otago the best region in New Zealand for Pinot Noir. Delicate and pure cherry and spice aromas lead to very pretty and pure cherry fruit. It all has the slightest herbal and spice overlay typical of Central Otago. There is that magical combination of light weight and intensity that is very rare. There is a great streak of natural acidity and it has a clean and pure finish. The fruit comes from 10-15-year-old vines and the wine sees 12 months in 35% new French oak. This is topflight winemaking, considering this is the entry level wine in this range. Truly the best of both worlds and a remarkable bargain at this price point, this will pair with a range of foods, from rare beef to grilled salmon. 468 cases made.
