Bardolino is a small wine region located on the eastern shore of Lago di Garda in Northern Italy’s Veneto region next to Valpolicella. Bardolino is a wine produced from the same grapes as Valpolicella wine but is much lighter and fresher in style with some spicy herbaceous notes. Bardolino is often compared to Beaujolais with its similar ability to pair with a wide variety of foods. This is an easy going, supple wine with bright red cherry and raspberry fruits and hints of herbs and spice. Give the wine a slight chill the wine to serve with picnic foods or an afternoon lunch or serve room temperature and pair with salmon, chicken and pork dishes.
