Bring on the grilled sausages
This grippy little red is made from 70% Malbec and 30% Merlot and is super dense with dark fruit. Meaty, full and rich aromatically, you get almost sweet or jammy smelling fruit but on the palate there is staining extraction and power. Big wine for this price point. The regional dish of Cahors is cassoulet, a hearty dish of beans, sausages, duck and herbs, not something we make here everyday in Southern California, but grilled sausages, hearty beef and pork dishes, they can surely hold up to this meaty wine.
