Champalou 2019 Vouvray Les Fondraux (sec tendre), Loire Valley
Catherine and Didier Champalou are both from winemaking families. Both very independent, they started the winery in 1983, and have become one of the most highly acclaimed in the Vouvray appellation. In this part of the Loire Valley, the noble Chenin Blanc grape is known as Pineau de la Loire.
The family farms 21 hectares embracing both sustainable farming and guidance from the lunar calendar.
Elegant and expressive with aromas and flavors of pears, melon, and pineapple. Slightly off-dry with a silky texture, minerals and fresh acidity balance the wine. Pair with shellfish, roast chicken, goat cheese, spicy Thai food.
