Located near the Mediterranean and on a coastal cliff that offers a delightful maritime breeze, soothing the vines and providing moisture from those warmer months in the Languedoc’s sunbaked summer afternoons. The blend here is 37% Syrah, 24 Grenache, 20 Carignan and 19 Mourvedre, so not unlike some wines from Cotes du Rhone and other parts of southern France, but there is a pop of darker fruit and wild spice that is so traditional for wines from the Languedoc.
Deeply fruited on the nose, dark sturdy fruit and with 14 months in oak, 25% of it new, there is a very welcoming warmth and creaminess in the mouth. Plenty of grip and a scrape of granite and cracked pepper on the long, full finish. Party wine, gift wine, parking your barking feet under the table, this wine has something to offer for everyone.
