Cos 2020 Nero di Lipo Natural Wine, Italy
On the nose you are introduced to plums and hints of raspberries. There is a slight barnyard characteristic but it does blow off. On the palate your taste buds are greeted by rich notes of boysenberry and black plumbs. That barnyard characteristic comes across as tannins in the midpalate creating a slight drying sensation. Resulting in the fruit becoming a little more tart on the finish in the form of tart red plums and dried cranberries. This drier finish also creates a light black olive flavor leaving the wine a bit savory.
