Cuilleron 2017 Condrieu "La Petite Cote', Rhone Valley
So full of flavor. Ripe and juicy, with a mix of apricot, nectarine, honesuckle, melon, orange zest and hints of herbs, all balanced by fresh acidity. The texture is divine - creamy an rich with a spicy note in the finish. Pair with grilled or smoked fish, salads with bitter greens, pork.
Yves Cuilleron is one of the great accomplished winemakers in the Northern Rhone. He has holdings in several appellations including Cote Rotie, St. Peray, St. Joseph, and Condrieu. This is one of four cuvees he makes in Condrieu. Grapes are grown on southeast facing slopes at altitudes that offer cool nights to retain fresh acidity, important for often big and flavorful Viognier wines.
