I have to say that while the vintage was trying throughout France, the 2016s we’ve been tasting from Sancerre an absolute delight. Domaine Auchere is a new producer for us and if this wine is any indicator I suspect it will be a regular placement. The aromatics here lean much more to the assertive floral than the green and mineral. Night blooming white flowers and citrus on the nose with a tang of more citrus on the palate and a finishing cord of cleansing acidity. I know Loire whites love food but this wine is gentle enough to just sip and savor.
