Domaine Bader-Mimeur 2020 Pinot Noir "Dessous les Mues", Burgundy

It is not very often we take a deep stack of a wine that is nearing the $30 price range but when you find a red Burgundy this elegant, classic, pure and generous at this price you learn to grab what you can while you can, and grab we did. Bader-Mimeur is located in Chassagne-Montrachet and the family has been tending vines in that region since the 1700s. This is a tiny production winery, they make less than 3,000 cases total annually and are farming sustainably. The fruit for this Bourgogne comes from just outside Chassagne-Montrachet. Here you have such beautiful and classic red Burgundy aromas. Pure red cherry, earth, mushroom, gentle floral notes and just a kiss of fresh herbal flavors on the finish. We fell in love with this one for its purity and how much true Burgundian flavor you get here for the price. Harder and harder for us to find these days so, well that’s why we nabbed as much as we could.
