Aligote was once thought to produce wines almost too acidic and thin to find enjoyable but we are more and more seeing and tasting some wonderfully expressive and down-right giving Aligote from Burgundy. This offering from Charlopin & Tissier is about as generous an Aligote as I’ve ever had. Plenty of cool stone fruit on the nose with some fennel and citrus to follow. Lovely and weighty texture in the mouth, nice and round but with a good swipe of palate freshening acidity. This wine wants seafood and tangy goat cheese treats.
