Domaine des Beaumont 2017 Morey-Saint-Denis, Burgundy

I was at first taken aback by how juicy and full this Burgundy smelled. There was some earth and mushroom notes but wow, was there a bunch of ripe cherries and vanilla too. That kind of luscious aroma that kind of makes your mouth start watering and almost makes you hungry. On the palate you get more savory notes along with a roasted, smoked meat thing that adds to the complexity and hunger inducing thing. Nice firm body with plenty of lacy acidity alongside that juicy, black cherry fruit and faintly charred oak. Drinking beautifully now and will hold up for 10 years in the cellar…but why wait?
