Interesting and sexy and a slightly oxidative nose . Plenty of freshness with aromas and flavors of grilled bread, oak toast, caramelized peaches, walnuts and better. Palate is weighty with a salty finish. Pair with ham, sausages, pork.

One of the coolest parts about the wines from France’s Jura is the amazing complexity of the aromatics. This, somewhat reserved white is made from 70% Chardonnay and 30% Savignin, made not in the traditional super oxidative style, this wine is slightly oxidative but still has tons of freshness. Something in the nose reminds me of grilled bread with a caramelized peach and salted butter. Sexy and weighty in the mouth with a long but slightly salted finish.

Jura's vineyards cover an 80 kilometer strip between Burgundy and Switzerland. The Petit family has long been producing wines in Jura, and have winemaking roots back to 1657. Desire Petit started the estate in 1932, and his grandsons, Gerard and Marcel, took over in 1970, increasing its size to its current 27 hectares. Today, Anne-Laure and Marcel's son, Damien manage the estate and practice sustainable viticulture, on their way to becoming organic and biodynamic. They grow all (5) of the Jura grapes, Ploussard, Trousseau, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Savagnin.
