Domaine Germain 2022 Saint-Romain "La Periere", Bourgogne

This domaine was started in the late 50s but underwent some dramatic upgrades in 2019, including a new winery which focuses on minimal intervention. I was dazzled by this charming Burgundy by the explosive and generous, floral and fruit packed aromatics. I sat spellbound, spinning the glimmering, purple tinged pool in the glass, dipping my nose below the rim, allowing the perfume to develop, change, grow and then change again. “Wow” On the palate again you find incredibly layered and densely packed fruit, but here you find poise and delightfully regal texture too. Aged in 1/3 new oak you also get some warming spice and creamy texture along with the vibrant energy. Built for early consumption, so get those openers out and enjoy.
