The Borgeot family have been growing vines in Burgundy since 1903 and is its 4th generation of family winemakers with brothers Pascal and Laurent. It is often said of Burgundy, when you seen the person that made your wine you can often see their personalities within the wine and that is true of the brothers Borgeot. Laurent full of energy and expression, Pascal calm, practical and focused, all of these qualities can be found in their wines. The Clos De La Comme Dessus was once a 1er Cru vineyard but the family refused to pay a tax bill years ago and because of that lost the 1er Cru status. Same mineral rich soils though and you can feel, and taste, the nobility in this beautiful white Burgundy. Aromatically you will be reminded of Chassagne-Montrachet with this wine. Deep roasted pear, warmed cashews and salted caramel. Dense, nearly chewy with weight on the palate. Quite layered and with a tremendously long finish.
