This blend of 76% Chenin Blanc, some from older bush vines in Swartland, and 24% Semillon is silky smooth, slightly rich and exquisitely well balanced. There are opulent aromas of pear and stonefruit with a floral, grassy overlay and palate-coating, intense but supple flavors of peachy stonefruit, minerally grapefruit and honey. The texture and mouth-feel are quite exquisite. There's a strong vibrancy and a luscious but clean finish due to proper balancing acidity. The wine is entirely barrel fermented in 25% new French oak and spends 10 months on the lees in neutral French oak. At this price, the supple elegance and mouth-coating qualities of this wine can't be matched.
