All things must pass, and this is the last vintage for the great Bert Selbach, who with no heirs, has decided to retire and reportedly sell his vineyard holdings to J.J.Prüm, his next door neighbor in Whelen. That is a real loss to us because, Bert's winemaking is like a Mozart Symphony, refined, beautiful and impeccable. This lovely Riesling is an apt illustration. With a ripe and stony nose, suggestive of the vintage, there is an appley, pleasant sweetness and lightness that is very easy to like. You can drink this at an early age and be perfectly satisfied.
