This cru Beaujolais is made in the Du Grappin cellar in Beaune by Andrew and Emma Nielsen from old vines grown at the base of La Grande Charrière on decomposed granite, schist and clay. The wine is made following Marcel Lapierre's recipe: Clusters are left in a vat for three weeks, then pressed into a wooden vat where it ages for nine months.
A wonderful crimson in color this is a very pure and seductive Saint-Amour. A very natural lilac and violet nose with cherry, strawberry fruit, smooth in and balanced acidity. So light and refreshing, gracefully brushing the palate. Fruit completely dominates any tannin and acidity. Clean and neat. Pair with roast chicken, pork, hearty soups and stews.
