A bit of a play on words here with this Exils from Francois Crochet. The vineyard the fruit for this wine comes from is the furthest from the property, looking out over the Loire River into Pouilly. The vineyard is so full of rocky Silex that after plowing Francois’ tractor blades are pretty beat up. The nose here is wonderfully layered and complex. Ranging from shaved chalk, to seashells, to fresh cut grass and tangy lime. Loads of mineral on the corseted palate with a wash of fresh acidity that feels almost like tannin. Serious Sancerre looking for something luscious and fatty to sink its teeth into.
