Müller-Thurgau, created in the 19th century as a hybrid cross between Riesling and a now-extinct table grape called Madeleine Royale (it was once mistakenly thought as a cross between Riesling and Silvaner until DNA tasting proved otherwise) for the purpose of earlier ripening in cold, cold Germany, provides pleasant material for a dry or semi-dry white wine of distinction.  Its reputation was marred by oceans of cheap wines coming from the Rheinhessen to make sweet, limpid wines called Liebfraumilch, but those brave souls who believe in the quality of the grape continue to produce admirable wines from it, especially in Franconia and in the Südtirol of northern Italy.  We've been impressed by the Rudolf Fürst estate's version for as long as our store has been in business, and this floral, clean and dry white wine provides pleasant flavors followed by a steely finish.  I haven't experienced this wine with any food yet, but I'd try it with veal, chicken and fish in a cream sauce for starters.
